SAMPLES:
– What are some popular programs/mobile apps in your country? Why?
I believe that there are many, such as Facebook, Instagram. They are popular social media websites that present users with an endless stream of the latest updates and photos from their friends, families, or their favorite celebrities, so young people in Vietnam spend the bulk of their time browsing these apps. Besides, Tiktok is also gaining prominence in Vietnam, as young people are getting more and more addicted to the viral videos on this app. The most popular use of the app is to create videos where they are lip-syncing and dancing. It enables everyone to be a creator and encourages users to share their passion and creative expression through their videos.
– Why do some people think that using mobile phones is very harmful?
Well, some are against the use of mobile phones because we can be too addicted to mobile phones. There is no doubt that our mobile phone can provide us with a variety of applications that can keep us entertained for hours. For example, the majority of young people spend most of their time scrolling Facebook or Twitter or watching videos on Youtube. As a result, this can distract them from their study or work. Besides, Overuse of cell phones or smartphones can result in many different physical problems that may cause permanent damage or be difficult to treat, including Digital eye strain, depression, and even cancer. We can suffer from the pain and discomfort associated with viewing a digital screen for over 2 hours.
– Should we use mobile phones less?
Yes, definitely. The overuse of mobile phones, as I said, can have adverse effects on our health. Staring into a screen for extended periods of time can cause “computervision syndrome. Many of us are probably familiar with the symptoms: strained, dry eyes, blurred vision, and headaches. Poor posture can also cause neck and shoulder pain. And it can cause obesity, insomnia, mood swings, and even problems at school among young children. Besides, using mobile phones also affects our communication skills, as young people tend to prefer chatting, texting, or interacting on social media to having a face-to-face conversation in real life.
– What are some methods to restrict the use of mobile phones among young children?
I think to teach children to do anything, parents should be role models first. So, if parents want to restrict their children’s screen time, they should attempt to use their phones less first. And it is very challenging to stop our children from using mobile phones because now using phones is unavoidable. So, parents should make it clear to their children that how many hours a day they are allowed to use mobile phones, like 1 hour is enough, and only use phones after they have finished all their homework at school. Besides, I think to distract them from phones, parents should encourage them to take part in other outdoor activities or sports that they are interested in, so this can make them busy enough and lead an active lifestyle.
