SAMPLES FOR COOKING:
Do you like cooking? Why / why not?
– (No) Sometimes. I am not really interested in cooking, as I find it quite time-consuming and tedious. And the fact that we have to think of what to eat during a day, what ingredients we have to prepare really irritates me. I would rather order something online and get a home deliveryrather than spend 2-3 hours in the kitchen.
– (Yes) Yes, oh, cooking is my favorite activityduring the day. I cook pretty much most evenings or lunchtime. I find it very therapeutic. For example, I had a really stressful weekend about a week ago, and my friend was like, “let’s just go and order food and get a delivery, and I was like: “no, I need to cook, and I need to chop onions.”
Who did the cooking in your family when you were a child?
My momalways did the cookingwhen I was small. Sometimes she taught my older sisters to cook something new so that they would cook as well. But for me, my mom’s food was hands down the best in the world, which I think most people will agree with me on this. Her food is made with great love and passion so that nobody can compare with her food.
Do you think that it’s important to know how to cook well?
I think it definitely is, cause cooking is one of the most fundamental skills in our daily life. If we don’t know how to cook well, and when it’s time we had to live on our own,we would struggle a lot. If we rely too much on pre-prepared meals, this would have negative impacts on our health. So basically, I think it is vital that young children should be taught cookeryfrom their parents, as this will help them cope better in their future independent life.
Do you think that children should be taught cookery at school?
Yes, that would surely be a good thing, cause as I said, cooking is one of the basic skills that one should acquire as early as possible. And when children know how to cook a few basic, they can take care of themselves and others. And cooking can also help them develop a sense of responsibility and independence, which is very beneficial for their future.

SAMPLES FOR FISH:
1. Do you eat fish, and why?
I often have fish about twice or three times a week, but I’m trying to eat fish more regularly and reduce my meat consumption during a week because fish is very beneficial for our health. In fact, fish is among the healthiest foods on the planet, since it’s loaded with essential nutrients, such as protein and vitamin D, which are incredibly important for our body and brain.
Yes, it is. It is one of the most popular pastime activities in Vietnam. If you visit the countryside, you will see many men going fishing in their free time near the rivers and ponds. For them, fishing is one of the best ways to get outside, relax, and enjoy a healthier, happier life. I mean, it is a recreation where and even on the worst day, when you catch no fish at all, is better than the time spent at home doing chores or doing nothing. And in case they can catch lots of fish, that would be even better because they will have fish for dinners.
3. What do you prefer: fish or meat?
I would say I prefer fish, because high consumption of red and processed meat can increase the risk of certain cancers, as well as cardiovascular diseases. On the other hand, consuming fish can lower the risk, as it provides us with more nutrients and vitamins that our body needs. Also, I love fish since I can eat as many fish, especially sea fish, as I want, knowing that they can do wonders for my weight loss goals.
4. Where do people often go fishing?
I think it could be somewhere near the rivers, the ponds, the seas, you know, anywhere that you can find fish. The majority of people in rural areas in Vietnam often go fishing in the ponds or lakes near the house, where they can find plenty of fish. For children, they also practice their fishing skills by fishing in small ponds and trying to catch smaller fish. Also, the fishermen often use big fishing boats to catch fish and other seafood in the sea.
