1. Do you often get up early in the morning?
No I am not. I am a night owl actually, I stay up really late, sometimes 12pm or 1am cause maybe I’m so addicted to my phone that I can hardly put it down, that’s why I often wake up really late, at around 9am.
2. What do you usually do when you get up early?
If there are days that I can get up early, I often kick start the day with some low-impact exercises. I often take a 30-minute walk in our nearest park, which gets me out into the fresh air and in contact with some daylight, which is important especially in the winter when we generally spend more time indoors. That half hour walk really sets me up for the day. If the weather is very bad, I do 15 minutes of yoga or Pilates as the tutorial videos on Youtube.
3. Do you get up early on weekends?
Well not always. One of my favorite things to do is go to bed on Friday nights without setting an alarm for the next morning. Sleeping in on weekends is so satisfying, especially after a long week of school/ work. But sometimes I get up really early as I love riding around the city. Less traffic means less stress out on my ride, and I also feel a lot safer with less cars on the road. And I have the chance to enjoy sunrise and fresh air, which does wonders for my mood for the rest of the day.
4. What is your morning routine?
Well, I start the day quite late, usually at 8-9 am, then make my bed and brush my teeth. After that I drink a tall glass of lukewarm water with half a lemon and honey, which can provide me vitamin C and help protect me from catching a cold. Then, I do my favorite thing in the morning, which is to do a stretching routine, like doing Yoga, to help loosen muscles after sleeping, and allow me to connect my mind, body, and breath. And then a healthy nutritious breakfast will give me the energy and motivation to get through the day.
