1. Do you like to watch TV programs about wild animals?
Very much. I am always amazed at all TV programs featuring wildlife and nature. You can find many amazing episodes on National Geographic, and Our Planet channels. Even if I’m not an outdoorsy person, the best nature shows on these channels are really captivating. In fact, I’ve recently been watching the new Planet Earth series and it has been tremendously uplifting and inspirational to me. I love finding out how different the lives of animals can be from one species to the next, and what these animals need to do to survive in different parts of the world.
2. Did you learn something about wild animals at school?
Yes, I did. In our biology lessons, we are taught about different species of wildlife and how their skills helped them survive in nature, like their hunting instincts, and how they can flee predators by using camouflage /ˈkæməflɑːʒ/, or toxic chemicals, that sort of thing. Besides, I was made aware of the various dangers facing wildlife, what brought about their extinction, and what were the ways through which we could contribute towards their preservation.
3. Where can you see wild animals?
Well, there are countless places that we can observe wildlife. Zoos and safari parks are home to a diverse array of wildlife, but I am really against keeping/ confining wild animals into cages, as they suffer immensely in those poor conditions. Besides, wildlife is mostly found in the wild, like forests, mountains, oceans, although there are many dangers they have to face in nature, they can learn how to adapt to their habitat to be able to survive.
4. In which country do you think you can see many wild animals?
I think Australia is home to a diversity of wildlife. The reason for this is that the whole country is an island, which makes it isolated from the rest of the world for very long periods. Due to this isolation and the lack of predators, Australia’s fauna developes, which also leads to its biodiversity. Interestingly, most of Australia’s wildlife is found nowhere else in the world, like their famous kangaroos, koalas.
