What do you think about the fact that some people like going to crowded places?
I think some prefer going to crowded places because they like the feeling of being surrounded by other people. I mean, sometimes they don’t want to be left alone, or they are sick of staying at home the whole day, then they often decide to hang out with friends in the downtown area to see how busy people are, and where they are going. Another reason could be they could gain pleasure from crowded areas. For example, at music events, the crowd is a key part of the attraction, the more people attend that concert, the happier the atmosphere is. And in crowded places like this, they can meet new people from different cultures and backgrounds and can bond lasting friendships as well.
2. The population in the cities is increasing dramatically, what are the reasons?
I guess one of the main reasons for this is that cities often offer more employment opportunities than rural areas. For example, in Vietnam, most of the jobs in the countryside are manual jobs in factorieswith very low salaries and long working hours, so young people have the tendency to relocate to bigger citiesin search of high salary jobs, such as doctors, lawyers, bankers. Besides, cities offer more entertainment choices than rural areas. Rural residents in VN only have a limited range of leisure activities, such as fishing, or playing some popular sports like football or badminton. In contrast, there are countlessactivities for city dwellers to take part in during their pastime, such as going to the movie, going to shopping malls or to the parks, whatever it is.
3. Are there any problems when too many people move to the cities?
–The emergence of New Pandemics and Epidemics: overpopulation in big cities is one of the leading causes of the occurrence and emergence of human diseases. Overpopulation worsens numerous environmental and social factors such as overcrowded living conditions and lacking health care, which makes poor communities vulnerable to infectious diseases.
– Rise in UnemploymentandCrime Rate: In overpopulated nations, the available jobs are fewer than the overall job-seeking population. This contributes to high levels of unemployment and crime rates. Violence and conflicts arisewhen people start competing for the limited available resources.
– Pollution: an increasing number of personal vehicles release massive amounts of toxic emissions into the air, leading to severe health problems.
